Chemin Esports becomes the Free Fire Pro League 2021 Winter Champions!

Chemin Esports are your Free Fire Pro League 2021 Winter Champions! They won by a huge margin, and even though they did not win a single booyah, they proved that getting kills consistently and surviving to the best of your abilities can make you the champion. It takes consistency, calculated moves and firepower of the highest calibre to pull off a feat like this. Let’s commemorate this immortal victory by reminiscing about the grand finals day.

Chemin Esports draw first blood

One could tell that Chemin Esports meant business by looking at the way they started fighting. They were the first ones to pull the trigger and commit to a fight. They wiped out Nigma Galaxy and continued marching higher on Peak. As the game progressed, a lot of teams were crawling towards the circle from the north side, while simultaneously fighting each other. This was a lose-lose war of attrition between Chemin Esports, KM Brotherhood, TSM and Total Gaming Esports, but even in that vortex of death, Chemin Esports outlived all their opponents and bagged several kills. Towards the end of the game however, Chemin Esports couldn’t go all the way, but Team Insane Esports established a good hold on the warehouse close to the Bimasakti Silo region, which gave them temporary hard cover and kept them safe until the herd was thinned out. They stuck when they got the chance later and easily got the booyah. While Insane Esports got the first win, Chemin Esports had a decent amount of kills, and could hence sustain themselves towards the top. Add to that the 12 bonus points they received from the league stage, and Chemin Esports overall score reflected confidence.

Close but no cigar

Chemin Esports once again had a phenomenal game in Purgatory, but couldn’t seal the deal. The circle moved towards the river bank, and only a single dockyard compound was available as hardcover inside the zone. Chemin Esports already controlled this compound and were in prime position to win the game. They were doing a great job of laying down suppressive fire and keeping enemies at bay. So while the enemies on land were taken care of, Chemin Esports could stop the enemies in the water from coming through. GodLike Esports used their surfboards and cruised under the dockyard, a place where they not only had cover from all their opponents, but also could shoot back at them. They took shelter below, while Chemin Esports did the hard work above the surface to keep the remaining teams away. When it boiled down to just those two squads, GodLike Esports surfaced and emerged victorious.

Nigma Galaxy put on their running shoes and construction hats

Kalahari finishes are always chaotic. In match 3, the zone shifted towards Bayfront. Chemin Esports had trouble rotating into the zone because of unfavourable terrain, but they knew when to throw caution to the wind. They were aware that the zone wouldn’t favour them, and they cannot get placement points even if they tried. In a last ditch hail mary effort, they killed 12 opponents before they finally went down. Nigma Galaxy on the other hand, condensed themselves into a tiny room in Bayfront as all hell broke loose around them. Bayfront endgames are always crowded and chaotic. Nigma Galaxy jumped out of their compound when the last circle started moving and started moving towards the centre of the circle while constantly gloo-walling their tracks to cover their retreat and also block other team’s path to delay them from coming in. This trick worked, and they either killed 9 opponents and forced the rest of them to choke outside the zone.

Team Chaos win Bermuda, but Chemin Esports is getting closer to the win.

Team Chaos got the dub in Match 4, and while they were the only team that popped off, Chemin Epsorts were getting closer to unveiling the winner. Chemin Esports had acquired a significant lead of more than 10 points after Match 4. Derailing them seemed difficult. Nigma Galaxy was trailing behind in second place, but the point deficit was a bit too much.

GodLike Esports faced Chemin Esports on Purgatory once again.

In Match 2, we saw how GodLike stole the game away from Chemin Esports towards the end. This time, in Match 5 of Purgatory, something similar happened again. The circle moved to north of Brasilia, where only 2 tiny trailers were available as cover. One of those was occupied by Chemin Esports, who had all their players alive, and the other one had TSM, who was also looking strong. Somewhere in the open, TSM - OldMonk was hiding behind a gloo wall while his teammate was riding around a bike to distract and disrupt the opponent. It boiled down to a 1 vs 1 vs 1 (three way) between CE - Radhetkr, GodL- Nivesh, and TSM - OldMonk. All these players are some of the best in the country, so this endgame was truly a clash of the titans. Despite having no backup, OldMonk clutched that game for his team. Once again, Chemin Esports' hopes of a Purgatory booyah were denied. But at least with this win, TSM inched into the top 5 teams on the leaderboard.

Total Gaming Esports climb to second place

Before the last game started, Nigma Galaxy were in second place. They would have been able to get silver if they stayed put, but they suffered early losses in Kalahari. Vasiyo was knocked out by Team Chaos, but the kill point was stolen away by Total Gaming Esports. Not only did they dent the chances of the team in second place, Total Gaming proceeded to win the booyah. This pushed them up to the second place.

GodLike somehow held their place at 3rd, and Nigma Galaxy dropped straight from second to fourth place. TSM finished fifth, and Team Insane Esports finished sixth. Nigma Galaxy missed out a spot on the podium by a tiny margin, but at least they, along with the top 6 teams from this final will get a direct invite to FFIC 2022 Spring

The Free Fire Pro Leaguee 2021 Winter might have ended, but this was just the start of a fabulous competitive year! Stay tuned for more information about future tournaments.
