Top 5 Teams to watch out in the FFPL2021 Winter Grand Finals

The Grand Finals of the Free Fire Pro League 2021 Winter are all set to take place this Sunday, on 30th January 2022. The League Stage was amazing, but the finalists will be truly tested this weekend. There are several amazing teams, both old and new in this final. Here are some of the contenders that are likely to win this tournament.

  1. Revenant Esports

Revenant Esports is probably the most efficient team in this lobby. During the league stage, they were able to easily get to second place on the overall leaderboard, even though they had played six matches less than the teams around them. By the time the league stage came to an end, and this team played out all their matches, they were aeons ahead of everyone else on the scoreboard. In shorter tournaments, like the grand finals for example, where the teams only have six games to prove themselves, their consistency can come in very handy. Their ‘points-per-match’ parameter is quite high. Their fighting power is feared by almost everyone in the lobby, but what’s better, is that this team doesn’t even need to fight together in order to win. They are all very capable players who can individually dig deep into enemy territory and tear them apart from within. Their split approaches are just as deadly as their combined rushing. This is a rare quality that no other team in the country has right now.

  1. Chemin Esports

Chemin Esports have built a reputation for themselves. Almost every time someone tries to contest their landing spot, they are able to beat their opponents with ease, without losing their players. This gives them a great head start every time someone is foolish enough to cross paths with them. However, we doubt this is something that they’ll get to exploit in the finals, because nobody contests them upon landing anymore. Since nobody is feeding them points at the start, they’ll have to earn their reward. But it’s not all bad news. At least, this confirms that they’ll never have bad games where they get eliminated early. In an interview with CE - Anand, he explains why his team has a great chance of winning. Do read that if you’re interested in getting some insights from pro players.

  1. Nigma Galaxy

Nigma Galaxy can be very easily depicted as the villains this time. This is a very elusive team that’s nearly impossible to pin down. While their firepower is good, what’s even better is their mobility. This team always keeps their options open while rotating, and have perfected the art of moving across the landscape safely. Dying while rotating continues to be the number one problem that plagues several teams, but Nigma Galaxy no longer stumbles on this hurdle. Perhaps the most interesting characteristic of this team is their ability composition. We saw them experiment with a lot of new characters like Nairi during the last day of the League Stage. We always appreciate innovative thinking, and this team was the first one to explore the new abilities. Their captain, Vasiyo has opted to equip only passive abilities, leaving behind the safety and security that active abilities offer. Of course, one must remember that they only experimented on the last day of the league stage, where they had already secured enough points to qualify. We’re interested to see whether or not they’ll take that risk during the grand finals or not.

  1. Team Insane Esports

Insane Esports were one with the shadow in this league stage. You’d never really seem them go for flashy plays, never pick up fights that aren't necessary. However, that doesn’t mean that they always avoided getting into trouble. While fighting became inevitable towards the end circles, Insane Esports struggled with finishing their fights on time. Since their battles went on for too long, they always found themselves facing third-party fights. That’s probably why Team Insane Esports finished fourth in the league stage, even though they had the potential to do better. They had 90 kill points, and 239 total points. Most of their points come from ratting their way for placements. After losing some players in mid-game rotations, the remaining surviving members played sneakily, revealing themselves only briefly to steal kills. Cheeky plays like these sustained Insane Esports so far, but this approach can get them punished in the Grand Finals.

  1. Total Gaming Esports

This is a zombie team, a team that came back from the dead to dance on the graves of those that stand at their feet, with dreams of the Pro League trophy on repeat. Total Gaming Esports were struggling in the first two weeks of the tournament. They were barely in the top 12, and just at the end of the second week, they got out of the dangerous waters and somehow got into the top 10. Still, they weren’t out of danger because a few mistakes could see them out of the top 12. Coming into the last week of the tournament, Total Gaming Esports popped off with massive booyahs and high-kill games. They skyrocketed straight up to fifth place. These high bursts of points can give them an edge in the finals, but it is also highly unsustainable to rely on these. Can they pull off plays like these in the Grand Finals as well?

These are some of the teams that you should be keeping an eye on during the Grand Finals this Sunday. Tune in to the stream on 30th January 2022 at 6 PM IST and support your favourite team!
