FFPL 2021 Winter: Week 3 Head to Head

This weekend, you will be blessed with some high-octane action once again as we resume the third week of 2022’s inaugural championship - The Free Fire Pro League 2021 Winter. In this article, we will directly compare some of the best-performing teams of Week 2 against each other. These rivalries will probably turn ugly this weekend, and hence we must take a look at all the storylines around them.

Chemin Esports vs TSM

The first two weeks of the league stage for these teams was a race to the top against each other. They were the only two teams who were close enough to compete with each other. While Chemin Esports managed to stay on top for the longest amount of time, TSM momentarily stole that lead away from Chemin Esports. The day when Chemin Esports’ group wasn’t playing, TSM capitalized heavily and scored as many points as possible to take the lead. They set a new record by scoring 87 points in a single day. No other team in the history of FFPL has scored so many points in just one day.  However, Chemin Esports retook the lead and their rightful place at the top of the scoreboard. Their rivalry continues to be bitter, as they also differ in their playstyles quite a lot. Chemin Esports capture a notable compound and defend it really well, while TSM lurks around the borders of the circle looking for prey to hunt.

As the second week ended, the gap between these two talented teams increased quite a lot. TSM suffered a few early eliminations towards the tail end of Day 4, that’s why their score rate dropped, and so did their overall position. Chemin Esports leads the charts with 208 points, while TSM is at the fourth position with 175 points. However, this gap can be easily overcome if Chemin Esports slip in a game or two. They must be cautious and protect their lead.

Team Chaos vs Nigma Galaxy

This is a rivalry that’s as old as time. Bad blood runs between these two teams because they are constantly seen fighting each other in the Central city of Purgatory. However, across Days 3 and 4, we saw them change things around quite a lot. To avoid fighting with each other in one of the Purgatory matches, we saw Team Chaos change their drop location to Brasilia, while Nigma Galaxy went to Crossroads. The game unfolded well for Team Chaos as they avoided early fights while maintaining a somewhat central position close to Brasilia, whereas Nigma Galaxy suffered early elimination at the hands of KM Brotherhood.

In another fight, where both Team Chaos and Nigma Galaxy did land in Central city, Nigma Galaxy focused on getting away instead of committing to the fight. Their early scouting and communication gave them crucial information about Aura Gaming Esports’ position (who were in Fire Brigade at the moment and were closing in fast towards Central city), who were waiting to third-party that fight. Vasiyo skillfully baited Aura Gaming Esports and Team Chaos into fighting each other, while he and his teammates snuck under their noses and exfiltrated from the southern island.

On the other maps, these teams mostly stay out of each other’s hair, and have almost no trouble with each other in Kalahari. There was an instance where they did face each other once in Bermuda, but that’s because the circle moved towards Clock Tower, and all the squads camping there devolved into fighting in a free-for-all mode.

These rivalries will be definitely worth looking into as we head into the third and final week of FFPL 2021 Winter League stage. Make sure that you catch all the action this weekend, on Saturday & Sunday, 22nd and 23rd January 2022, at 6 PM IST on our official Free Fire Esports India YouTube channel.
